On Sunday, January 23rd, the Girls Varsity Tennis league champions held their annual banquet, celebrating all members on the team. This year, it was held at Dave and Busters® at the Block™. All the girls enjoyed each other’s company, and the delicious food and desserts didn’t hurt either! All members on the team were recognized as league scholars, meaning they maintain above a 3.5 GPA while on the team.

In addition, many of the Lady Huskies were recognized individually for their great effort and skill throughout the season. There were four of Fairmont’s finest in the First League Team, including Tricia Wang, Jenny Ly, Julia Phan, and Rose So. Also, there was one member of the team that made the Second League Team and she was Mona Fouladi. Other awards that were specific to the team were also distributed. The winners consist of:

Coach’s Award: Julia Phan
Most Improved: Mona Fouladi
Most Valuable Players: Jenny Ly and Tricia Wang

Seniors Jenny Ly & Tricia Wang with their coaches.

All in all, the varsity tennis team banquet was a blast. As Aashna Parek, number two doubles player said, “It has been a while since we all had the time to hang out as a team. I missed my teammates and this was really a great way to reminisce the season.” Congratulations to the team for becoming League Champions and qualifying for CIF. Go Huskies!
