COMMUNITY SERVICE: making a difference during the holidays

Happy new year! The entire Prep community participated in the 11th annual holiday toy drive to benefit the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). Organized by Fairmont employee Judy Coderre, the Prep was integral in beginning this highly anticipated and supported event many years ago. On Friday, December 10th, Prep students lined the entryway to campus to watch the Orange Coast Harley Group roar on to campus with Santa Claus to collect toys for CHOC. Boxes and boxes of donated toys were loaded into a truck by our ASB officers, and the Harley riders and Santa moved on to the rest of the Fairmont campuses to spread holiday cheer and collect donated toys. Check out the OC Register's coverage of this annual Fairmont tradition.

We recently received this email from CHOC to thank us for our participation:
I wanted to thank you on behalf of the patients and families here at CHOC Children's for organizing ANOTHER successful toy drive for our hospital!!!  These toys will last us all year and keep the patients so happy!!!  Please pass along our thanks to the Fairmont Private Schools for all of their hard work as well.  We look forward to working with you again this year!!!  Happy New Year!

Thank you, Prep community, for your support of this annual event to make a difference in the lives of children during the holidays!

  6. The coolest part of the toy drive was to watch everyone come together and donate all those toys for the kids.
