On March 1, David Doody, a senior engineer on the ongoing Cassini mission around Saturn, came to Fairmont Prep to speak to Engineering Magnet students. His presentation entitled ‘How We Got to Saturn and What We Found When Got There’ exposed students to some of the history of space flight, the development of the Cassini-Huygens space craft, and the current mission. Students were awed by the interstellar images captured by the probe and the new discoveries that are constantly being made. Mr. Doody brought a 1:24 scale model of the spacecraft for student to view and copies of some of the captured images.
