WEEK IN REVIEW: may 2-6

Valedictorian & Salutatorian Named
Congratulations to our 2011 Fairmont Prep valedictorian, Heidi Messiha, and salutatorian, Sakib Dadi. Heidi and Sakib have been exemplary members of the Class of 2011, and look forward to sharing the upcoming graduation festivities with their classmates. The list of involvement these outstanding students have been involved with during their time at Fairmont is impressive, and as the valedictorian and salutatorian, they graduate with the top GPAs in their class respectively.

Heidi Messiha, Class of 2011 Valedictorian
As a member of the Prep's Medical Magnet and International Baccalaureate programs, Heidi has contributed to the Prep both in and out of the classroom. She has been a part of the Debate Team, served as a Student Ambassador, is a member of the National Honor Society, and was very active with the Prep's theater program (Inez in 2007's "Oscar & Felix"; Karen Nash in 2010's "Plaza Suite"; assistant director of the senior play, "Good Luck, Andy"). During her senior year, Heidi served as Clubs Commissioner on the Prep's ASB.

Her achievements include: Girls State 2010 Delegate, FPA Director's Honor Roll 9th-12th, H Spanish III Student of the Year, H English III Student of the Year, National Merit Finalist & $2,500 Scholarship Winner Recipient, AP Scholar with Distinction and NHS Co-President.

Heidi attended Fairmont's Edgewood campus for junior high, where she played soccer and basketball, and was very involved with musical theater, debate and pentathlon. Heidi will attend Stanford University in the fall.

Sakib Dadi, Class of 2011 Salutatorian
Sakib served the Prep as ASB President this year, and has been actively involved in a number of the Prep's activities throughout his four years here. He served as Sophomore and Junior Class President before becoming ASB President, and has been a part of National Honor Society, Speech and Debate, Husky Howl (the student newspaper), Student Ambassadors, Varsity Soccer and Fairmont Assist.

Outside of school, Sakib served as the Prep's delegate to the 2010 session of California Boys State, interned at Boeing, and volunteers with St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange.

Sakib attended Fairmont's Anaheim Hills campus for junior high, where he was very involved with ASB. Sakib will attend the University of Pennsylvania in the fall.

Calendar Check
AP & IB testing continues next week, so there are limited activities on campus to allow students to focus on these important exams.
