COLLEGE CORNER: UCSD/USD College Visitation Day

It's important to visit colleges and universities you might consider to attend. Visiting a school campus gives you a close-up look: an opportunity to focus on a specific academic program and actually experience college before you make a commitment. We encourage you to check out -a large and a small school or one urban and one small-town campus to get a feel for each campus life. On October 12, Fairmont Seniors will have the opportunity to visit two college campuses in San Diego. University of San Diego is a private religious affiliated four-year university; University of California San Diego is a four-year public university. Here's your chance; seize the opportunity and sign up for the college visit today!

STUDENT ACTIVITIES: How To Set Up Student Gmail

This year, each Fairmont Prep student will have his or her own student Gmail account! This email account will allow teachers to send important updates and will help students communicate with each other. Additionally, Gmail offers students access to useful functions like Google Documents, Google Calendar, Gmail Chat, and online registration for the After School Program.

It just takes two easy steps to activate your Gmail account, and we ask that all students complete the activation process by this Friday, September 23.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES: Field Day

After the TiK-ToK Rally, students had the opportunity to relax and have some fun in the sun with their friends at the park. There were so many activities going on, that even students had a tough time deciding what to do! The choices varied from playing basketball, volleyball, soccer, hanging out with peers, and much more. Students even had the chance to hop into an over sized jump rope and show off their skills!

HUGE jump rope!

The student body had the opportunity to take a short break from the fun and games to cool down with delicious frozen yogurt and even refuel on some delicious hot dogs and veggie burgers! And many teachers and students chose the challenge, to eat a giant slice of juicy watermelon!

Field day was a great opportunity to meet new people, catch up with old friends, and make great memories!

STUDENT ACTIVITIES: Back-to-School Rally

ASB Dance to TiK-ToK by Keisha

Welcome Back Huskies! On Friday, September 2nd, Fairmont held their annual  Back-to-School Rally. Themed “TiK-ToK,” the Back-to-School Rally got students pumped up for the beginning of the school year. For the first time ever, the rally took place outdoors at Brookhurst Park. To get the rally started, ASB showed off their amazing dance moves to the song “TiK-ToK” by Kesha.

We started off the rally by singing our Alma Mater, lead by our Pep Band.  During the rally, new teachers, deans and counselors were introduced. As well as our football team. Their first game against Sage Hill was that same night.

The Best Poster Contest, went to the Seniors class! Congrats Seniors! And the Sophomores did awesome by winning the “Bucket Head” game.

Have another fantastic year HUSKIES!  We are off to a great start.
