Mylan is also first alternate for the CIF competition should any of the top four participants be unable to compete. These Lady Huskies did a fantastic job of representing themselves and Fairmont Prep at this two-day event, concluding one of the best girls golf seasons in recent years. Boys golf begins in February - Please see
Mr. Wheeler in Room 5 for details.

Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is next week, October 26th - October 30th. Red Ribbon Week serves as a means for communities to take a stand for the hopes and dreams of our children through a commitment to drug prevention and education. This includes making a personal commitment to live drug-free lives with the ultimate goal of having a drug-free America.

Perhaps more importantly, Red Ribbon Week commemorates the ultimate sacrifice made by Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, who died at the hands of drug traffickers in Mexico while fighting the battle against illegal drugs to keep our country and children safe.

Red Ribbon Week began after Special Agent Camarena’s kidnapping, torture and brutal murder in 1985. An organized community response began to raise awareness regarding the need for alcohol, tobacco and other drug and violence prevention, early intervention, and treatment services. In 1988 Red Ribbon Week was recognized nationally with former President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan serving as the Honorary Chairs of the event.

Fairmont Prep is proud to participate in Red Ribbon Week and encourage our students follow this year’s theme, Respect Yourself Be Drug Free!
